Gallaway is reported to be headed to Asian Champions League winners Western Sydney Wanderers – the only side below the Jets on the A-League table.

Jets boss Phil Stubbins thanked the 22-year-old for his stint at the club.

“Sam has been a fine servant of this club and we thank him for his contribution and wish him all the best in the next stage of his football career,” Stubbins said.

Gallaway said it was honour to play for his home town club, and thanked Jets fans for their support.

“It has been a pleasure to play for the Jets and represent my home region of Northern NSW, I have enjoyed being part of the team and appreciate the support of the fans and everyone at the club,” Gallaway said.

Gallaway made 44 appearances at the Jets since joining the Hunter Valley club in 2011.
