The Italian was not happy with how cold it was during the Reds’ match with the Black Cats on Saturday. Just before the lunchtime match he reportedly said, “This is the f*****g coldest city I’ve ever f*****g played in.” Luckily his anger seemed to be reserved for the playing conditions rather than anything else.

This doesn’t sound like a man that is happy in his surroundings, and could fuel rumours that he is not far away from leaving the Premier League. Napoli are amongst the clubs to have been linked to the forward.

The 24-year-old’s barren goalscoring run continued in the match on Wearside, as the Merseyside club had to rely on a Lazar Markovic strike to take the spoils. The Italy international is still yet to score in the English top flight since returning to it with Brendan Rodgers’ side in the summer.
