White Hart Lane man ideally placed to fill Old Trafford side’s centre forward berth.

Man United have ‘form’ when it comes to raiding Tottenham for their top talents; Michael Carrick and Dimitar Berbatov being just two such examples, and if they are to once again target a member of the White Hart Lane playing staff then Louis van Gaal would do well to make his interest in young striker Harry Kane known.

The 21 year old is of course on fire right now, scoring at will and scaring the life out of even the most accompished defences and if Mauricio Pochettino’s side fail to secure a top four finish then you can rest assured that concrete offers for the England Under 21 international will start raining down on the north London side.

As Wayne Rooney continues to adopt a more withdrawn striking role it is perhaps time to usher in a new player to fill the type of position the Man United star adopted in his Old Trafford pomp.

Kane could be that man.

The powerful forward is much more than just a ‘goal-scorer’, the Spurs man has great awareness of what’s going on around him and has the ability to beat his man for pace and power and possesses the tricks to use creativity as his weapon to defeat opposition defences. In that manner he is very similar to a young Wayne Rooney.

Tottenham will struggle to keep hold of Kane and though chairman Daniel Levy has done well to delay the departures of some talents, Luka Modric, and pushed to get huge sums for others, Gareth Bale, there is every chance that in six, 12 or 18 months time the Chingford born forward will be wearing new colours.

Van Gaal currently has Robin Van Persie in the role but 31 year old has suffered with severe injury issues during his career and as such he is not a long or medium term solution for the position. Loaned in forward Radamel Falcao has disappointed whilst youngster James Wilson has shown sparks of ability the jury is still very much out on the teenage talent.

Kane did the rounds in various loan stints before he got his chance to shine at Tottenham and he has taken his opportunity with both hands and it’s likely that should an even bigger opportunity arise he would surely consider leaving his current club to fulfill his ambitions if needs be and a move to Man United may be one that he makes in the not too distant future.
