Liverpool Recall Exciting Young Forward From Loan Spell

Jordon Ibe returns to Anfield from Derby County.

Following reports earlier in the day, Liverpool have now confirmed that teenage winger Jordan Ibe has been recalled to Anfield from his loan spell with Championship high flyers Derby County, with the England youth international available for selection ahead of this weekend’s Premier League clash with Aston Villa.

Ibe joined Steve McLaren’s Rams earlier in the season on a deal that was due to run for the length of the season, but it had a January break clause that has now been activated by the Reds, on account of the teenager’s impressive displays for a Derby side in the thick of the race for promotion from the second tier.

Signed from Wycombe Wanderers as a 16 year old, having caught the eye with a stunning goal on his senior debut against Sheffield Wednesday in League One, Ibe has consistently impressed for Liverpool’s youth sides and also had a spell with Birmingham City at the back end of last season.

He has scored five Championship goals for Derby this season, despite being used in a rotation system with the likes of Johnny Russell and Jamie Ward, with Brendan Rodgers and his scouts having been sufficiently impressed by Ibe’s progress to bring him back to Anfield ahead of time.
