The 21-year-old, who started his career at Manchester United and was considered one of the brightest prospects coming out of their academy, has had a career plagued by attitude problems and disciplinary issues.

It now looks as though he will quit West Ham at the end of this season before joining Lazio on a free transfer in something of a surprise move for the troubled attacker.

English players rarely make moves to the Italian top tier, though Morrison could join former Chelsea & England left-back Ashley Cole in the Italian capital, with the defender currently at Lazio’s arch-rivals AS Roma having moved to the Stadio Olimpico last summer.
