Spurs carved out a 4-2 victory over Burnley in the FA Cup after going 2-0 down after eight minutes, but Adebayor was again missing from the Spurs line-up despite Pochettino insisting the Togo striker was fit.

The 20-year-old’s nine-week absence from action has fueled speculation that he is set to leave White Hart Lane and a number of clubs are already lining up an offer for him.

Pochettino, however, denied any transfer talk and merely stated Adebayor was nearing the requisite level of match fitness and still has a future with the club.

“Yes, I explained last week, he’s nearly ready for selection,” said Pochettino, reports London Evening Standard.

“He’s training in the last few weeks; his training sessions have been very good.”

Adebayor hasn’t featured since Spurs 2-1 loss to Stoke City at the beginning of November and despite his nine starts, has only manage two goals and an assist so far this campaign.

Parma have been linked with an interest in Adebayor according to the Evening Standard, though his £100k a week wages are said to be something of a stumbling block.
