El Confidencial claim Reus will be a player for Los Blancos as of 1st of July this year and will sign a five year contract worth €7m net per season.

Reus, famously, has a release clause that comes into effect this summer which provides some explanation as to why Madrid are able to have agreed such a low fee for the forward and have already negotiated contract terms.

The report states the deal for the German international was completed just before the turn of the year with Real president Florentino Perez sending representatives to Dortmund to meet with Reus personally and finalise a move.

The Dortmund star has, however, had a difficult season which started late due to a serious ankle injury in the summer that ruled him out of the World Cup.

Reus then suffered a similar injury on international duty that has impacted on his game time and was stretchered off in a Bundesliga game towards the end of November after tearing ankle ligaments.

He is expected back later this month.
