The Eagles boss, who only took charge of his first game for the club as they beat Tottenham Hotspur last weekend, has admitted he would like to bring in another new addition upfront after taking Arsenal youngster Yaya Sanogo on loan for the second half of the season.

Gomis is believed to be one of Palace’s top targets in that position, with the Frenchman not managing to establish himself as a regular for the Swans this season since his summer move from Lyon.

Elsewhere, Pardew also hinted that he could be keen to snap up Liverpool’s Enrique this month, having worked with the Spaniard before at Newcastle United.

Enrique is another player currently out of favour with his club who could be available for a realistic price this January.

“We should be in the market for another striker. And we’re currently trying to find another route,” Pardew said.

“He (Gomis) is a Swansea player and I’m not going to talk about players who are under contract at other clubs.

“We are looking at the market, we’re making discreet calls to chairman and to managers.

“Jose is a player that I’ve worked with before. I haven’t as such made a direct enquiry to the player or his agent or the manager of Liverpool or the chairman.”
