Ginola is set to launch his campaign at a press conference on Friday, but told the Sun about his ambitious aims ahead of time, with Ginola believing that football needs to be “refreshed” after Blatter’s reign:

“It is time that football was refreshed.”

“We have to be brave and deal with what is going on in this game we love.”

“I know it will not be easy for me to be elected but I have to try.”

“I always did my best on the pitch and I will do the same now.”

“I’m not interested in dwelling on the sins of the past, this is about taking football forward and putting supporters at the centre of the game.”

“Football belongs to the people and they deserve to have a voice.”
