Speculation surrounding the future of former FC Midtjylland central defender Reid has intensified this January, as clubs can now approach the player with regards to a potential free transfer move in the summer, and football agent Barry Silkman is quoted as saying that the Hammers now have just seven days to come to an agreement if they are to have any hope of keeping Reid at the club:

“If he doesn’t sign the new deal [with West Ham] in the next seven days then he won’t be signing.”

Arsenal are the club who have been most heavily linked with a move for Reid, with Gunners manager Arsene Wenger known to be keen on bringing defensive reinforcements to the Emirates Stadium in January due to an injury crisis at the back that has only been exacerbated by an injury to right back Mathieu Debuchy.
