Szczesny’s future at the Emirates looks bleak.

Wojciech Szczesny has been forced to play with the Arsenal Under-21s after falling out of favour with manager Arsene Wenger for both on and off-field incidents, according to the Sun.

Szczesny has not played for the Gunners since the 2-0 Premier League loss to Southampton on New Year’s Day, in a game where the goalkeeper was at fault for both of the goals.

To make matters worse, following the defeat to the Saints the Poland international was caught smoking in the showers and has now badly fallen out of favour with Wenger.

David Ospina has replaced Szczesny between the sticks for both the league and FA Cup victories over Stoke City and Hull City respectively and the Colombian looks set to retain his place when the North Londoners take on Manchester City.

During the week the Pole has been training with the youth side, although Wenger has refused to publicly criticise his ‘keeper and the club insist the new regime was only put in place to give him extra work.

Whatever the reason things don’t look good for Szczesny regardless and if Ospina can carry on impressing in goal then his No.1 role at the Emirates Stadium could well be lost permanently.
