The Red Devils have been unconvinced by the Colombian international’s displays at Old Trafford this season, with the summer transfer window deadline day signing failing to reach the heights expected of him so far in England.

Falcao 0nly has three Premier League goals to his name sto date, and was notably left out of Louis van Gaal’s squad altogether for the club’s recent game against Southampton – though he then returned to the starting lineup for this weekend’s win at QPR.

Despite his lack of goals, United could still be open to signing the 28-year-old permanently, but for less than the £43m price initially agreed between themselves and Monaco when they completed the summer loan deal.

It remains to be seen if the Ligue 1 side will lower their demands, but it is hard to imagine mAN United will pay that kind of money for a player who could likely be replaced by cheaper options elsewhere.
