Red Devils still interested in luring the world’s most expensive footballer to Old Trafford.

Manchester United are still interested in signing the world’s most expensive footballer, Gareth Bale, and are ready to use goalkeeper David de Gea as a bargain chip in potential negotiations with Real Madrid, according to reports from the Express.

The report suggests that United are still very interested in bringing Bale back to the Premier League, despite his successful stint in La Liga to date, and will attempt to sign the Wales international in the summer – with goalkeeper de Gea potentially holding the key to the deal.

Real Madrid are heavily interested in bringing Spanish international de Gea to the Bernabeu as the long term replacement for legendary Spaniard Iker Casillas, although United remain in negotiations to try and keep the former Atletico Madrid stopper at Old Trafford for the long term.

United manager Louis van Gaal is ready to spend big once again at the end of the season, a fact that could lead to a quiet January as top talent does not tend to be available in the winter window, and it would appear that former Tottenham Hotspur star Bale is set to be near the top of his list.
