The Blues are interested in the Colombian to strengthen their options in the final third of the pitch. Cuadrado was a target for manager Jose Mourinho in the summer, but the winger eventually signed a new contract with the Italian club.

However, the Stamford Bridge outfit could now pay his full release clause in order to get their man.

The 27-year-old impressed at the 2014 World Cup in the summer, and has continued that form for Fiorentina this season. Cuadrado has scored five goals and grabbed four assists in his 21 appearances to date.

If this transfer were to go through then it may make Andre Schurrle and Mohamed Salah’s futures at the club less tenable. Both players have been finding it hard to get in to the team during the current campaign, and with another winger added to the squad they will only be knocked further down the pecking order.
