The England man has enjoyed a great season at Upton Park thus far and one can well see why Hammers boss Sam Allardyce would want to purchase Jenkinson but this source believes the £12m Arsenal want for the 22 year old may be out of their price range.

Wenger was happy to send Jenkinson to east London as the Gunners boss has more than his fair share of full-back options with the likes of Nacho Monreal, Mathieu Debuchy, Calum Chambers, Kieran Gibbs and Hector Bellerin in his armoury.

Jenkinson may well come to the conclusion that a move away from Arsenal would be best for his overall career progression.

West Ham sit within range of European qualification and as such Allardyce could perhaps be handed a decent transfer fund boost next summer which could make a £12m move plausible.
