After an impressive season so far, the 21 year old has caught the eye of top Premier League clubs and the Gunners had led the way – but will now be joined by Newcastle in the race to acquire the defender’s signature.
A £10m price-tag has been placed on the youngster, which is a high-price for the player, but one that hasn’t put off the duo from the English top flight.
Ipswich manager Mick McCarthy is determined not to allow Mings leave in the January transfer window though, with his side pushing for a promotion place.
The versatile defender has made 22 appearances for the Tractor Boys this season – playing a vital role in their push for promotion to the Premier League as they sit third in the Championship.
