Although the Reds are yet to formally announce any deal themselves, Williams took to Twitter this afternoon to celebrate penning his new contract.

Brendan Rodgers handed the teenager his Anfield debut this season in the Capital One Cup tie with Middlesborough.

Williams showed he definitely has the nerve to make a career at Anfield, with the Welshman first in line when the League Cup tie went to sudden death penalties and coolly slotted his away to help his side progress.

He has since sat on the bench for the Reds’ FA Cup tie with League Two side AFC Wimbledon.

Williams originally joined the Merseyside club as an U-14 from Wrexham, but his Anfield career seems to have come on leaps and bounds in the last year.

The versatile 19 year old, who can play in both midfield and defence, has yet to make his full Liverpool debut, but has clearly shown enough promise to convince Rodgers he deserves a contract extension.
