£12m Deal Struck For Manchester United Misfit To Sign For Liverpool

The Gunners had been thought to be very close to signing the centre-back in recent days, with the player set to move for around £10 million. However, it now appears that things are not as straightforward as they first seemed, with the Red Devils getting involved in the race for the player’s signing.

If Louis van Gaal were able to nip ahead of his competitors to sign the Brazilian it would be a major blow to the Gunners, with the transfer being seen as important for the Emirates outfit with the injury of Mathieu Debuchy. United also have a number of fitness problems with their defenders.

However, given issues attempting to secure a UK work permit for a non-EU player with no senior appearances for the Brazil national side, both sides could theoretically miss out on Gabriel Paulista’s signature.

Arsene Wenger recently completed his first deal of the January transfer window in the arrival of Krystian Bielik a couple of days ago. The Pole is unlikely to start playing straight away due to his fitness and the fact that he is just 17-years-old.
