According to the Daily Express, the Welshman is a priority target for the Red Devils as Louis van Gaal seeks to continue his big spending habits since taking over at Old Trafford in the summer.

Bale was a Premier League star in his first spell on these shores, becoming regarded as one of the best players in the world with his performances for Tottenham Hotspur, which earned him a world-record £85m move to the Bernabeu in 2013.

Still, the ex-Spurs flyer could now be sold by Real as United come calling, with the exciting Belgian youngster Januzaj supposedly on offer to the club after falling out of favour in van Gaal’s squad this season.

The 19-year-old remains a hot prospect for the future and could be a tempting proposal for Real as they look to build for the future after splashing out on 16-year-old Norwegian wonderkid Martin Odegaard.
