In-demand Norwegian teenager explains Premier League snub.
Real Madrid’s new signing has explained why he rejected offers from top Premier League clubs to instead join Real Madrid, the Sun reports.
The 16-year-old was targeted by the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester United and Manchester City before making the £6m move to the Bernabeu.
However, Odegaard has described Real as the best club in the world and the best personal move for him, despite the chance to develop in England.
“It’s a dream come true and an incredible honour to join the best club in the world.
“This move gives me the best possibility to develop as a player and it offers me the best conditions in my personal life.”
