There is truth behind huge transfer story, says agent.
Manchester United’s interest in a staggering £112m deal to sign Paris Saint-Germain centre-back Marquinhos is true, the player’s agent has confirmed, according to the Daily Express.
The Brazilian starlet is one of the most exciting youngsters in world football at the moment, and looks like he could be the subject of a mammoth approach from the big-spending Red Devils.
United are known to be in need of reinforcements in defence at the moment, with the likes of Jonny Evans and Chris Smalling not particularly impressing this season, while youngsters Tyler Blackett and Paddy McNair have been forced to play a surprisingly high number of games.
Louis van Gaal has already invested heavily in new signings since he took over at Old Trafford, bringing in big names such as Angel Di Maria and Radamel Falcao during the summer transfer window, though he is yet to spend in January.
Still, Marquinhos is seemingly on his radar, with his agent revealing their interest, saying: “Many clubs are interested in the player. Manchester United are one of them, this is true.”
