The Argentine tactician has established himself as one of the best managers in the world in recent times, guiding Atletico to the La Liga title last season against all the odds, whilst also reaching the final of the Champions League, where his side were beaten by Real in extra time.

Simeone’s achievements with Atletico have been hailed as among the finest in the modern era, and this has unsurprisingly seen the 44-year-old linked with some big jobs elsewhere.

Still, there is no chance of the former midfielder taking up a role at Atletico’s arch rivals, saying he would snub an offer from the Bernabeu even if they offered him the best deal imaginable, with unlimited funds.

Simeone also spoke in the same way about the prospect of managing the Brazilian national team, who have an intense rivalry with Argentina.

“Would I coach Real Madrid or Brazil if I was offered the best contract imaginable and unlimited funds? I think I’d have to pass on that and say goodbye to the money,” he said.
