The 29 year old is seemingly a player PSG boss Laurent Blanc feels he can do without with the Argentine’s failure to attend the Ligue 1 side’s winter training camp seen as an event that has all but ended his career in the French capital.

Anfield boss Brendan Rodgers is looking to strengthen his options in the final third and a move for the former Napoli man this month may well be plausible.

Lavezzi rose to prominence in Naples but hasn’t hit the same heights in France and even when teaming up with his former Napoli partner Edinson Cavani the versatile forward has on the whole been found wanting.
