Why Real could end their interest in United shot-stopper.
Real Madrid may cool their interest in signing Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea if Iker Casillas continues to show an improvement in form, according to the Sun.
The Spanish giants have been linked several times with a move for de Gea recently, with the 24-year-old in highly impressive form in the Premier League this season.
Having previously starred in La Liga for Atletico Madrid, de Gea had found himself on Real’s radar as they pondered bringing in a long-term replacement for the ageing Casillas, who looked for a time to be past his best.
However, the 33-year-old looks to be bouncing back after a recent run of form, and has kept summer signing Keylor Navas out of the side despite fears that the Costa Rican could be a strong contender to take the number one spot.
This will come as a welcome boost for United, who will not want to see one of their best players leave after so many match-winning performances this term.
