Mourinho has reportedly confirmed that the likes of Branislav Ivanovic, Cesc Fabregas, Nemanja Matic and John Terry will return to the starting line-up for the match against Brendan Rodgers’ side after they were rested for the shock 4-2 defeat at the hands of League One opposition on Saturday.

The Portuguese boss will be well aware of the fact that the eyes of the footballing world will be on Stamford Bridge and expecting a reaction from his worst result as Chelsea manager against a Liverpool team who have quietly constructed an impressive run of form.

Speaking ahead of the game, Mourinho indicated that he hoped the fact that his side are well aware that they are up against top class opposition will mean that the complacency that reared its ugly head against Bradford will not be present at Stamford Bridge tonight:

“So maybe the fact that we play against a good team, maybe that will push us on to a different level of concentration and motivation that we couldn’t reach on Saturday.”
