The 18-year-old has been linked to Liverpool by the Metro recently, and this will be both good and bad news for the Reds. A competitor for the youngster’s signature has failed, but at the same time it seems that the price for the midfielder may be higher than first thought.

The offer from their Championship rivals was £3.5 million, which could have risen to £4 million with add ons, and the Midlands side seem determined to keep hold of the highly rated Englishman. However, a bid from a Premier League side may entice Gray to agitate for a transfer.

Despite only scoring four times and assisting one goal this season, Brendan Rodgers’ eye seems to have been caught by the winger’s pace and dribbling skill. It is unknown whether he will make an attempt to sign the midfielder in the current transfer window, or wait to see how he develops before making his move.
