The Daily Star say the veteran forward’s current deal with Japanese side Cerezo Osaka expires at the end of this season, and the 35-year-old could be secured on a loan deal until the end of his contract.

Tony Pulis is said to be expressly interested in ex-Red Devil’s experience upfront and sees his firepower and efficiency as a way to ensure the Baggies remain in the top flight next season.

However, Forlan’s last spell in England was hardly anything to write home about, and his signing could be seen as something of a gamble – though it is unlikely he would be a regular starter for any of the touted sides…

But after successful spells in Spain and South America, Forlan could provide the extra push these three sides need to ensure their Premier League status next season.

Around Europe, Forlan is hugely respected for his La Liga exploits, and he could relish the chance for one final hurrah to improve his reputation  in England.
