Former Manchester United man turned pundit Gary Neville has an interesting opinion regarding Diego Costa’s stamp on Liverpool’s young midfielder…

Sky pundit Gary Neville took to Twitter to weigh into the debate surrounding Chelsea striker Diego Costa’s stamp on Liverpool’s Emre Can, with the former Manchester United star claiming the Blues star should escape punishment.

Costa is already facing a three match ban for his behaviour during his side’s 1-0 win at Stamford Bridge, but the Brazilian born Spanish international could still walk free if an appeal is successful.

The former Atletico Madrid forward has a history of aggressive behaviour, and never seems to be too far from controversy. His aggressive nature lends to his playing style, and he is known for infuriating the opposition.

It is extremely difficult to tell whether the incident in question is intentional, and even harder to prove. On the face of it he seems to be totally oblivious to Can’s presence on the floor, but the fact that he manages to keep his balance so perfectly after treading on the German international suggests that he was well aware of what was beneath his feet.
