Hull City have been linked with a loan move for out-of-favour Manchester United midfielder Nick Powell this January, according to the Daily Mirror.

The England youngster has struggled at Old Trafford since his move from Crewe Alexandra in 2012, having previously been regarded as an exciting young prospect at the club.

However, Powell failed to impress in a loan spell with Leicester City earlier this season, and now faces an uncertain future as the Red Devils hope to try loaning him out again for the rest of the campaign.

Hull manager Steve Bruce is ready to take a gamble on the player as he seeks to strengthen his squad for the rest of the season, and Powell could be a useful addition either in midfield or attack.

The 20-year-old certainly doesn’t look likely to get much playing time at Old Trafford due to the fierce competition for places in Louis van Gaal’s immensely-talented squad.
