Manchester United Confident Of Landing Nathaniel Clyne This Summer

Nathaniel Clyne looks to be on his way to Old Trafford, but only in the summer…

Manchester United believe that they will sign Southampton full-back Nathaniel Clyne in the summer transfer window, with the high-flying Saints looking set to endure another year of attempting to detract interest in their star players.

Ronald Koeman’s side lost Adam Lallana, Rickie Lambert, Luke Shaw, Dejan Lovren and Calum Chambers last year, but have defied expectations to reach third place in the Premier League standings, and now have aspirations of securing a European spot.

Clyne has been one of the stand-out players for the South Cost side this term, with his performances even earning him a call-up to Roy Hodgson’s England squad.

United boss Louis van Gaal is confident that he will secure a £15m deal at the end of the season, by which point Clyne will only have a year remaining on his contract at St. Mary’s Stadium.

As well as the 23-year-old, the Daily Mirror believes that Southampton could face interest in French midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin, who remains a target for Arsenal.

The Saints have done brilliantly this term to cope without last season’s stars – but it would be a truly remarkable achievement if they could match it in 2015/16 should big clubs mine their talent once again…
