The Red Devils have been accused of playing boring football after failing to score in their last two games. The Dutchman’s use of a 3-4-1-2 formation has been pointed to as the cause behind the turgid displays.

However, now that the 63-year-old has finally agreed on this matter fans may be able to look forward to some more attacking displays at Old Trafford in the near future.

Van Gaal said of the entertainment value, “The last matches we failed to do that because, of course, the goals are the most important thing.”

He continued, “So when we are not scoring too much then the fans cannot enjoy the game. But we have a lot of players who are attractive to see, so I don’t think we are not attractive enough.”

He added, “But we have to score more goals, especially when you see the last games. But these games were also special.”

The former Barcelona boss has also come under pressure due to the failure of his big name players to make an impact this season. Robin van Persie and Angel Di Maria have both been struggling to score and create goals in 2014/15. The Mancunian side are currently in the top four of the Premier League, but that may not last too much longer if they do not improve their goalscoring record in the near future.
