Speaking after his side’s fine 5-0 win over Aston Villa Wenger is of the belief that the final 24 hours of the transfer window will not see him pushing to get last-ditch deals done.

“I don’t think I will be busy,” he said.

“We have done what we wanted and, unless there is a huge surprise and somebody calls me, then why not? (But) at the moment, nothing. It’s very quiet.”

Wenger has signed teenage Pole Krystian Bielik and Villarreal defender Gabriel Paulista thus far in the window and having invested over £70m in new additions last summer it’s fair to say that the north London side have a good quality squad.

That said Arsenal still sit outside the top four, even after winning five of their last six Premier League fixtures, and as such some Gunners fans may have hoped for a more active approach in the winter window.
