Mauricio Pochettino seems ready to sell the Tottenham defender with an initial loan move close to being agreed by the two clubs.
Andre Villas-Boas signed Chiriches from Steaua Bucharest in an £8.5m deal in the summer of 2013, one of a host of additions made using funds accrued from Gareth Bale’s big money move to Real Madrid, and once the 25 year old had proven his fitness he initially impressed.
However he hasn’t proven a regular under Pochettino, the last of his five Premier League starts coming in late December, and may well be ready for a fresh challenge.
