Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko will not be happy with the arrival of Wilfried Bony, according to journalist Ian Ladyman, paving way for a potential deadline-day transfer.

Dzeko has struggled to accept and adapt to squad rotation since his arrival at the club, and today could see the Bosnian end his frustration with the reigning Premier League champions.

The 28-year-old is likely to fall further down the pecking order behind new signing Wilfried Bony as well as Sergio Aguero, and the arrival of Bony could signal the end of his career with the Citizen’s.

According to Ladyman, City have no desire to let the striker leave, and it remains to be seen if Dzeko will force a move or continue to fight for his place.
