Everton have reportedly joined the race to sign Tottenham Hotspur winger Aaron Lennon.

The 27-year-old former England international has started just three Premier League games this season and he is expected to leave White Hart Lane before tonight’s transfer deadline.

Hull and Stoke City are both keen on Lennon, but Everton are the favourites to gain his signature, according to Sky Sports News.

The Toffees want to sign Lennon on loan until the end of the season – a deal that could coincide with Spurs buying Belgian Kevin Mirallas from Goodison Park.

Sky Sports reporter Alan Irwin revealed: “There are some strong possibilities that Aaron Lennon is one of the favourites to sign here for Everton.

“I know he’s been touted about a number of clubs, with Hull City and Stoke showing interest, but it could be that Everton are now favourites to land Aaron Lennon on a loan deal until the end of the season.

“That, in itself, may see Kevin Mirallas move in the opposite direction. Something could happen over the next few hours.”

Lennon, who joined Spurs from Leeds in 2005, is currently Tottenham’s longest-serving player.
