The 30 year old playmaker has long been linked with a move to Old Trafford, dating back to when Sir Alex Ferguson was still in charge of the Old Trafford side, and by all accounts Louis van Gaal is ‘in the clear’ to complete a move for the Galatasaray man before the transfer window slams shut.

Sneijder has been hotly tipped to move to Juventus but it appears that the Turin based side have turned their attention to Borussia Dortmund’s Henrikh Mkhitaryan, paving the way for a move to Man United.

Galatasaray want £15m for the former Ajax, Real Madrid and Inter Milan man, with both sides keen to seal the deal swiftly.

Whilst Louis van Gaal has primarily been linked with move to improve his leaky defence it seems he is not going to let an opportunity to sign Sneijder pass by.

Sneijder is of course a hugely experienced campaigner and a player van Gaal knows well from his time as Netherlands national team coach and though Man United are perhaps well stocked in the attacking midfield department there is every chance the Galatasaray man could make a real impact in the Premier League.
