Manchester United boss Louis Van Gaal: FA Cup is a Priority

The FA Cup a priority for Red Devils…

Manchester United only have two trophies available to them this season – the FA Cup and the Premier League – following a disappointing first season without Sir Alex Ferguson, and manager Louis van Gaal believes that the FA Cup is not only a more realistic target, but a priority.

The Red Devils brushed aside Cambridge United at the second time of asking in a 3-0 victory last night, and Van Gaal has now tipped his side to lift the trophy in May.

The Dutchman has even given gamblers a tip to place their bet on his side:

“We have a real chance now… Why? We are the highest qualified team in the FA Cup so people are maybe betting on us. I am not allowed to bet, I am not a casino man – but I give you a tip,” Van Gaal was quoted by the Mail Online.

What’s more, the former Netherlands international boss is confident he can deliver the trophy to Old Trafford as “For me, personally, I have always won a title in my first year everywhere I have worked,” he continued.

Nonetheless, Arsenal remain in the competition, while Liverpool take on Bolton in their fourth round replay later today, and United must see off League One outfit Preston in the fifth round – the Red Devils manager knows this task will be no piece of cake.
