Raymond Moore is set to attempt a 10K run in March, a bike ride between Liverpool and Chester, a three peaks challenge and a Tough Mudder assault course but says changing his shirt is definitely going to be the hardest.

Liverpool supporter Ken Ladon challenged Moore when the two met on holiday and asked Ladon for suggestions on challenges he could attempt every month.

And ahead of one of the most important days in the footballing calendar for both Everton and Liverpool the 51 year old has waved goodbye to his beloved blue shirt and has donned the Red.

“This is going to be harder than [the other challenges] – which is going to be physically difficult. Mentally this will be the hardest challenge, wearing a Liverpool shirt,” said Raymond reports Liverpool Echo.

“It was a big Liverpool fan who said about supporting Liverpool FC for a month. It was his idea – it’s his fault. He’s been giving me a hard time on Facebook about it.

“I play football, five-a-side every Friday with mostly Everton supporters, they said they’re not speaking to me and have told me under no circumstances to turn up on Friday wearing a Liverpool shirt.”

And what of the crucial match this Saturday? He says he’s staying away from Goodison because he would have to sit in the away end, depriving a true Liverpool fan a seat.

“I’ll be watching it and if Liverpool do score, I will cheer – I’ve promised and I always keep promises,” he added.

Raymond is completing his challenges for Phoenix Community and Youth Project. You can see his sponsor page here.
