The Colombian has been linked to both Arsenal and Tottenham. Both North London clubs are sure to have been put on alert by his latest comments. While neither side was able to get close to signing the forward in January, they may have more luck in the summer, when his current side are more easily able to get a replacement in.

“Right now I only focus on doing my job with Porto, but I’m ready to make the leap in the next window,” Martinez said.

He added, “I have my head focused only on the work I’m doing at Porto at the moment and when the transfer window reopens, we shall see what will happen.”

The 28-year-old is a prolific goalscorer for the Portuguese giants, netting 20 times in 24 appearances this season alone. Spurs are likely to want him to replace misfiring Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto Soldado, while the Gunners could use Martinez to enhance a forward line that already includes Alexis Sanchez, Theo Walcott, and Olivier Giroud.

Arsenal and Tottenham will also come up against each other on the playing field on Saturday, as the fierce rivals play in the Premier League. The match will be intensified further as both teams are chasing Champions League qualification.
