The striker comes home.

The striker Cesar ‘Chelito’ Delgado is back in Rosario Central after 12 years.

“I always hoped to return and it luckily happened. I’m happy and pleased to be back home again. I’m excited about this new stage,” said the striker at a press conference.

After his first meeting with his team, ‘Chelito’ said he felt good because he still had a very good physical condition after playing for a long time in Mexico.

The striker became the sixth addition to the team led by Eduardo Coudet after signing on a one year loan from Monterrey.

“Eduardo knew the original idea was to come here in June, but things happened faster because everyone did their bit to make it happen” said the striker.

Delgado also said that Rosario Central can become one of the country’s leading teams thanks to heavy investment and a rapidly expanding fanbase.

Delgado joined his fellow new arrivals, Marco Ruben, Pablo Alvarez, José Luis Fernandez, Jonathan Ferrari and Gustavo Colman.

He played for Argentina’s national team in the 2004 Copa America and was part of the team who won the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens. He also played in part of the 2006 World Cup qualifiers but did not make it to the finals due to an injury.
