Boca Juniors are still finalising negotiations of what seems set to become the most important transfer for the club in 2015.

The 25 year-old has played in the last two World Cups and also has been part of big clubs such as Uruguayan Nacional, Ajax, Botafogo and Corinthians.

During his time with Corinthians Lodeiro didn’t see much action, lost some form and thus began to seek a way to leave. At one stage Arsenal were keen, but he has elected to stay in his native South America instead.

His greatest playing achievements are Uruguay’s fourth place in the 2010 World Cup and winning the Copa America while playing in Argentina the following year.

Boca Juniors manager is expected to continue to strengthen his squad this year with the arrivals of the goalkeeper Guillermo Sara, the four defenders Alexis Rolin, Fabian Monzon, Gino Peruzzi and Marco Torsiglieri, and midfielder Pablo Pérez..
