The Spanish international will now obviously miss this weekend’s derby day clash with Atletico, as well as they Champions League tie with Bundesliga outfit Schalke.

Madrid will already be without the services of midfield maestro James Rodriguez, after he broke his left metatarsal against Sevilla as well.

A statement on the club’s website read:

“Following tests carried out on Sergio Ramos by the Real Madrid medical service at the Sanitas La Moraleja Hospital, the player has been diagnosed with a torn hamstring in his left leg. His progress will be monitored.”

However, Real will finally be able to call upon Cristiano Ronaldo once again, after he completed his two-match ban for punching a Cordoba player.

In Ramos’s place, Real are expected to call upon 25-year-old Nacho, who has never been a regular with Los Blancos.
