The 24 year old stormed out of Anfield when he discovered he wasn’t in Liverpool’s squad for their last encounter with Everton last September but appears to have regained the trust of manager Brendan Rodgers in recent months.

Sakho has started the last seven Premier League fixtures and has shown great form of late but admits that earlier in the campaign things were far from rosy.

“That was a bad moment for me, it was a difficult time,”

“I felt bad, but that is normal, you know.” Sakho added.

Rodgers opted in recent months to adopt a three man back-line and Sakho has thrived.

“I never doubted I would come back,” he said.

“I never thought to leave. I don’t know if I have proved I belong here, that is for others to decide. But I am happy, very happy at the club and very happy with the team.

“I have two and a half years left on my contract and I never say I want to go. I am happy here in Liverpool, my family is happy here.”

Liverpool paid £18m for Sakho back in September 2013 and he has made a total of 37 appearances for the Premier League side.
