The 34 year old Liverpool skipper is set to leave Anfield for a move to the LA Galaxy this summer and will hope to sign off with a win at Goodison Park.

“This is my favourite game of the season,” he said.

“I actually enjoy the Goodison derby more than the Anfield one because I can feel the hatred and feel the bitterness.

“If I could pick one place to get a win it would be Goodison, but losing there is a nightmare, the worst feeling you can have as a player.

“I had some stick from an Everton fan yesterday but it is part of my life living in this city.”

Liverpool go into the fixture on a good run of form that has seen Brendan Rodgers’ side go 13 games unbeaten in all competitions.

Roberto Martinez will hope his Everton side can build on their first win in nine, picked up away at Crystal Palace last weekend, but know that his Toffees side will have it all to do as they look to push up the Premier League table.
