The 16 year old centre-back is tipped as a player with a great future and Sam Allardyce must clearly rate the teenager to consider handing him his debut at such a tender age.

It should however be noted that the possibility of Oxford becoming the East London side’s youngest ever player is down in no small way to something of an injury crisis at Upton Park.

Allardyce may be without Carl Jenkinson, James Tomkins, Winston Reid and James Collins leaving his back-line severely stretched for the visit of Louis van Gaal’s side.

Oxford recently signed his first professional contract, committing to West Ham, and brought an end to ongoing interest from Arsenal and Man City.
