Shahid Khan, owner of the West Londoners, is eager to see his side return to the top flight after relegation under beleaguered coach Felix Magat last season.

But the Cottagers will turn to West Ham boss Sam Allardyce if they are unable to land the Tigers’ coach.

Fulham are said to be unbothered that Bruce’s current side, Hull City, find themselves in the midst of a relegation scrap – though their point away to Manchester City yesterday means they are now out of the bottom three.

Bruce has already overseen the promotion campaign of two other sides – Birmingham City and two seasons ago with Hull – and Shahid believes in his abilities so much he is willing to pay the former Manchester United defender £12m over three season with potential £1m bonuses per annum, reports the Sun.

Although Kit Symons is currently in charge of the club, and rescued them from a terrible position in the Championship earlier in the season, Khan is wanting a bigger name in charge to boost their chances of promotion.

Bruce is currently on a one year rolling contract with the Tigers and despite owner Assem Allam claiming talks were ongoing, they are reported to have stalled several months ago.

And Neil Lennon, current Bolton Wanderers boss, is now being touted as a potential replacement if he fails to commit or leaves.
