The 25 year old was a big target for a number of European sides when he first broke onto the scene at Malaga and has continued to score regularly in the Russian Premier League.

The Venezuelan netted 25 goals in 56 appearances for Rubin Kazan before moving to Zenit in January 2014 where he has continued to impress.

Brendan Rodgers could of course well do with strengthening his attack given the poor form shown by summer captures Rickie Lambert and Mario Balotelli.

A move for Rondon may prove a wise option and presumably, a potentially cheaper one that bids for the likes of high-profiles stars such as Edinson Cavani and Jackson Martinez, both previously linked with Liverpool moves.

Rondon has a good grounding of experience, garnered in Spain and Russia, and has the potential to make an impact in the English top tier and may well be tempted by a fresh challenge.
