The 21 year old Frenchman is seen by the Etihad Stadium side as an ideal replacement for Yaya Toure, who is currently away on national team duty at the African Cup of Nations, with this source valuing the former Man United man at around £50m.

Toure is said to be hankering for another big move before his competitive career comes to an end, the Ivorian is nearing his 32nd birthday, and City would allow him to leave if Pogba was secured to replace the former Barcelona star.

PSG are also keen on Pogba and City know that any big money move would have to be balanced with player sales so as to adhere to UEFA’s FFP (Financial Fair Play) guidelines.

Pogba has matured into arguably the hottest young prospect in European football and whilst Juventus have been a huge force in Italian football the Turin side’s inability to make a real impact at Champions League level could leave the rangy midfielder vulnerable to interest from prospective suitors.
