The 22 year old has impressed since being ushered into the Stamford Bridge squad, following a three season long loan spell at Atletico Madrid, and there seems little chance Jose Mourinho would consider offers for the Belgian.

By all accounts Bernabeu boss Carlo Ancelotti is losing patience with Iker Casillas, the custodian dropping another clanger on the weekend during his side’s 4-0 defeat to Atletico Madrid, and sees the Belgian as an ideal replacement.

This source points out that Jose Mourinho has been closely following Real Madrid centre-back Raphael Varane, the Blues boss having brought the Frenchman to the Spanish capital during his time in charge of the club, and believes that the defender may be used as bait to help secure Courtois.

Given that Mourinho has the likes of John Terry, Gary Cahill, Branislav Ivanovic and Kurt Zouma, to name just four centre-backs, it’s unlikely that such a bid would be enough to convince the Chelsea manager to sell arguably one of the hottest goalkeeping prospects in world football.
