High hopes for the future.

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Mousa Dembele is optimistic that the current crop of talent at White Hart Lane is capable of delivering the Premier League trophy in the near future.

Spurs have quietly closed in on the top-four and have a realistic chance of securing Champions League football next season as the second-half of the season hots up, and Dembele is excited by the future of the club.

When asked if he believed the team has the potential to challenge for the title, the Belgian had this to say in response:

“Yeah, you see as well how the club works now, the feeling that they want to keep a lot of players here,” Dembele was quoted by ITV.

“They extended the contract as well, so it is a very positive thing because the players that you saw now that have extended their contract are very good players, young players as well, who in the future will make massive progression.

“It is a very good think for everyone. Everybody knows if the team is together for a long time, it gets easier and easier.”

With striker Harry Kane bursting onto the scene this campaign – helping Spurs to victories over London rivals and league giants Chelsea and Arsenal – hope will certainly be raised that the team could begin to deliver silverware, but they will need to become more than a one-man team to compete with the best in Europe.
